Beautiful antique English blue transferware tea trio consisting of a matching tea cup, saucer, and side plate, dating to the Edwardian period (circa 1900-1915).
This set features a classic Oriental floral scroll pattern in rich cobalt and slate blue with a geometric chevron border around the rims. Transfer printed decoration of a creamy earthenware body, typical of fine Staffordshire production made for the American export market.
Set is in very good antique condition: No chips, cracks or repairs, light age-related crazing, and strong , clear transfer printing with minimal wear. There is a bit of discoloration in the bottom of the cup.
Cup is 3 1/4" diameter at the top rim and 3" tall. Saucer is a little over 5 1/2" in diameter and raises 1" at the rim. The side plate measures 6 3/4" in diameter.
